Family Friendly October events in Maryland

Fall brings its own fun, seasonal activities - apple picking, all things pumpkins, and Halloween. But, if you're looking for something fun to do this month that isn't necessarily related to fall, I've rounded up a couple of super cool activities and events that are family friendly. If you go to one, I'd love to hear your experience!

Little Farmers Toddler Class

Common Good City Farm

Join us for a morning of learning, discovery, and fun on the farm geared toward our youngest farmers! Learn about topics like veggies, bees and worms while exploring the farm. All children ages 18 months to 3 years, accompanied by an adult are welcome! Recurring every Monday at 10AM, except for holidays.

No registration required, but advance registration is always helpful. Class fee of $5 (fee waived for income qualifying families) Pay online and get 6 classes for the price of 4!

Mess Zone & Clay Play in the BGE Studio Workshop

Port Discovery Children's Museum

35 Market Place - Baltimore

Visit the BGE Studio Workshop and spark your child’s imagination through fun, hands-on art projects that you work on together! Projects are designed to get you excited – and learning – as you explore art. Enter the Mess Zone as we work together to paint and create art. Or get your hands dirty digging and playing during our Clay Play activity. Not crazy about getting messy? That’s okay! We’ll have other activities to enjoy as well.

Admission is free with museum entry, which is $15.95 for individuals two and up. Members and children under two enter free.

Tony McGuffin has been the host of the Teddy Bear Farm Visit for 27 years! Join in the Teddy Bear Contest at 1 PM and 3 PM. Folk singing with Tony 12PM to 4PM both days. Enjoy all our rides, Enchanted Forest attractions and pine tree pennant maze, plus our hay bale maze and gem mining, too. Food vendors, pumpkins, local cider.

First Sunday Arts Festival Sunday 10/7/18 11AM - 5PM

1st block of West Street

Annapolis, MD

The Arts Festival is held the first Sunday of every month from May 6th to November 4th on West Street in Downtown Annapolis. Shop from 130 local and regional artisans and enjoy outdoor cafes and more than seven live bands each day. You can explore galleries, take a game room challenge and even create your own artwork at shops on West Street.

Spooky SPY Family Night Friday 10/12/18 6PM

Horse Show & Family Fun Day Sunday 10/14/18 10AM - 2PM

Maryland Therapeutic Riding

Join us and celebrate the achievements of MTR participants with family, friends, and the community! Held on our on our beautiful, 25 acre farm located in Crownsville, Maryland, this event is free to participants and spectators.

In addition to the horse show, there will be an area dedicated to our family fun activities including games, crafts, pumpkin painting, pony bounces, face painting and more! Food will be available for purchase from a local food truck.

Disney Princess, Peppa Pig Brunch & Spa Party

Come in your costumes ready to party! Amazing brunch will be served! Characters in house! Spa services! Glam your pumpkins and crafts. Magical Milkshakes will be open! Dance party on the stage. Registration required. $40 per child.
